Nikolay Kovkov

Nikolay specialises in the protection and management of industrial intellectual property rights, particularly in the fields of pharmaceuticals, chemical technology, and FMCG.
His expertise covers all stages of patent prosecution in Russia and abroad — from patent research and preparation of application materials to examination procedures, prosecution management, and patent dispute resolution.
Before joining VERBA LEGAL, Nikolay worked at a Russian patent law firm, where he represented leading Russian and international pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and chemical companies, technology start-ups, research institutes, and industrial enterprises. He also has in-house experience in an R&D department of a manufacturing company.

a Russian manufacturing company on the development and implementation of internal intellectual property regulations, including protection of know-how, procedures for the payment of inventors’ remuneration, and preparation of related documentation;
various clients worldwide in procedures for obtaining several hundred patents for inventions;
Russian and international companies in the course of comprehensive legal due diligence, as well as in the registration of trademarks and computer software.
