India is the world's most populous country and the third largest economy by GDP. The trade between Russia and India reached an all-time high of $70.6 billion, a 9.2% increase compared to the previous year, with Russia remaining India's fourth biggest trading partner.

The firm advises on the most crucial issues including corporate law and M&A, comprehensive investment support, commercial and banking law and, beyond that, assists its clients intending to make foray into the markets of India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Alexander Panov, VERBA LEGAL Senior Partner, is in charge of developing VERBA LEGAL’s international network, Artem Elistratov will be overseeing the office in India while Animesh Mishra will be directly involved in managing its day-to-day operations. Animesh got his LLB degree from Jindal Global Law School at O.P. Jindal Global University and focuses on such areas as asset structuring, regulatory matters and international arbitration.
"Hitting the Indian market is a conscious and pragmatic step. As far as two years ago, we felt there was the demand from the major Russian companies for development and intensification of trade and production relations in the ever-growing Indian market. Given its complex legal system, the abundant blossoming of regulatory regime, heavy protectionism when it comes to production localization and capital movement, and, of course, a kaleidoscopic legal and social context, we realized that we had to fully immerse into the market and, consequently, open an office there," said Alexander Panov.
Earlier, VERBA LEGAL successfully opened an office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, which marked an important milestone in the firm’s development and further strengthened its foothold in the Asian market.
