Ilya Lysov
Associate
Ilya specialises in dispute resolution and intellectual property protection, including trademark and patent disputes. He represents clients before commercial courts and the Court for Intellectual Property Rights, the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) and the Patent Disputes Chamber, as well as liaising with state and regulatory authorities.
Ilya’s practice includes pre-trial and judicial resolution of disputes concerning infringement of exclusive rights to trademarks and patents, as well as unfair competition disputes, including matters related to domain names and websites. He also handles cases involving the early termination of trademark protection due to non-use.
He conducts negotiations with foreign counterparties on the protection and disposal of exclusive rights, prepares bilingual IP agreements for major international companies involving foreign elements, and develops legal positions based on the application of foreign law.

Selected Experience
Ilya advised:
conducting a series of cases on the early termination of trademark protection under Article 1486 of the Russian Civil Code before the Court for Intellectual Property Rights, including successful defence of clients’ positions before the Presidium of the Court for Intellectual Property Rights at the cassation stage;
representing clients in negotiations with foreign counterparties regarding the protection and disposal of exclusive rights, including the preparation and negotiation of bilingual IP agreements for major international companies involving foreign elements;
transactions involving the acquisition and assignment of domain names, including transactions involving foreign parties;
