Animesh Mishra (link), Coordinator of VERBA LEGAL’s Mumbai (India) office, as part of the Faculty of Law team of the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), won the award for “Best Respondent Memorial in the World” at the Foreign Direct Investment Moot 2025, held from 29 October to 2 November in Boston, USA.

FDI Moot is one of the most prestigious global competitions in the field of international investment arbitration. This year’s case focused on issues such as the tribunal’s jurisdiction in the context of state succession, the application of the Monetary Gold principle, and breaches of obligations to ensure full protection of investments and free, non-discriminatory transfer of funds.
