From May 19 to 21, 2025, Saint Petersburg will host the XIII International Legal Forum where Russian and foreign experts, government officials, representatives of the legal community and business figures will have a chance to discuss pressing legal issues.

Dmitry Malbin, VERBA LEGAL Partner, will speak at a session titled "Legal Risks: Compliance and Prevention in the Digital Era" scheduled to take place on the second day of the forum.

This session will primarily focus on how to efficiently manage inherent business risks amidst digital transformation of the economy. On the one hand, using modern digital tools could contribute to ensuring high-quality legal protection of business, successful development of rule-making at a local level as well as prevention of risks and various legal liabilities. But at the same time, an all-encompassing digital transformation of society and economy leads to the formation of new legal risks that should be foreseen and prevented.

Participants will discuss how to build a legal risk management system using the state-of-the-art digital services as well as what innovative methods for performing counterparty due diligence checks and mitigating business bankruptcy risks internally could come into play in the new realities.
