Prior to joining VERBA LEGAL, Artem was a partner at a lawyer’s office and an advisor in a major Russian multiservice law firm where he was in charge of managing cross-functional projects, implementing innovations in the customer experience and personnel expertise.
Litigation has been Artem’s principal area of expertise for more than 14 years. Artem has ample experience in comprehensive legal support to projects and legal due diligence; his principal areas of expertise are corporate conflicts, commercial disputes and bankruptcy cases, construction, banking and tax disputes.
His hands-on experience in supporting disputes in court and holding pre-court negotiations enabled him to shape efficient approaches and methods that provide for comprehensive efforts to protect the interests of customers and to accumulate unique expertise in mediation and out-of-court settlement of disputes and conflicts.
Artem has strong experience in consultations to customers as related to business activities and corporate relations, along with experience in development and successful implementation of corporate defence efforts for major companies.
He has ample experience in building legal teams that have proven to rank among the leaders in the Russian legal market as confirmed by well-known Russian and international ratings (Best Lawyers, Pravo-300, Kommersant, etc.) in the key areas of expertise.
Artem led the team of litigators that placed second in the company rating in terms of efficiency / court wins (WinRate) according to the survey by Pravo.ru (2020).

Defence of the Principals in corporate disputes, including representation of participants/shareholders and companies in numerous disputes on appealing against the resolutions of the managing bodies, the company’s transactions, the rights to shares / equity interests and disputes related to appealing against the registration records in the Uniform State Register of Legal Entities, disputes with regard to corporate relations, including representation of a minority shareholder in a corporate conflict of a major oil pipeline and onshore facility construction company, including more than 60 disputes for the total amount exceeding RUB 3.5 billion, and its settlement by signing a comprehensive settlement agreement.
Representation of the Principal, modelling and support for the transaction on acquisition of a department store under the major bank bankruptcy procedure.
Representation of the Principal in the debt recovery dispute arising from poor work management at a facility of Rosneft PJSC. The dispute was settled by signing a settlement agreement on the terms and conditions beneficial for the Principal.
Representation of the Principal in the dispute on judicial termination of a long-term rental agreement due to significant change in circumstances at the time of exposure to COVID-19 as a precedent-setting case, based on which the rental agreement was terminated pursuant to Article 451 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
Defence of a beneficiary of a medical centre acting as the Principal under the dispute on recovery of damages, based on which, despite the recovery of damages at the first round of dispute review, the decisions made by lower-level courts were cancelled by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, while the new round of dispute review resulted in restoration of the Principal’s rights and refusal to recover the damages.
Representation of the Principals in disputes with banks, including a dispute with a top 10 bank regarding unsubstantiated charges.
Disputes at arbitration centres and those aimed at enforcing and appealing against arbitration awards, including representation of 2018 FIFA World Cup stadium construction contractors acting as the Principals under the cases on recovering the cost of completed works and reimbursement for losses.
IT disputes, including claims to protect computer software (databases, source code).
Environmental disputes, including representation of a developer in the disputes on enforcing liability for violation of environmental laws; representation of a metallurgical plant in the disputes with the regulatory authorities.
Real estate and construction disputes, including representation of construction companies in the disputes against the Russian Ministry of Defence on recovery of debt for capital construction works, that resulted in the Principal’s claims being satisfied in full.
Successful indemnification from subsidiary liability for the Principal acting as the beneficiary of the debtor, namely an underground station construction contractor.
Successful defence of the Principal acting as the pledger of multiple major production complexes in the disputes based on the bank’s claims on recognising the transactions as invalid on special grounds.
